Cold weather/rainy day activities for kiddos!

Shaving Cream or Whipped Cream Fun! Use shaving cream and cover a table with shaving cream! Let your little ones draw and write until it all disappears, and voila, you have a clean table!

Rice or sand in large Tupperware container, with boats, cars, etc…

Count Money- teach your child to differentiate between dimes, nickels, quarters and pennies, or give them tons of pennies and let them count them into a jar

Play playdoh or color the day away.

For little ones, put down a sheet and strip off clothes and let them practice eating with a spoon or finger paint.

Have a picnic on the floor

Bake something fun!

Reuse, renew and recycle- Find broken crayons, place them in an greased muffin tin, and place them in a warm oven or crock pot to melt. Let them cool and pop them out of the tin. Use your new "rainbow color wheel crayons" to draw pictures.

Play in the tub with shaving cream, finger paints, and bath crayons.

Create a home theater and watch a classic movie, complete with popcorn and dimmed lights.

Make collages from old magazines!

Ripping Paper- Let toddlers rip paper and collage the ripped pages!

Show Nite!

We have lots to share with you tonight!

But first and foremost, our encouraging verse of the week!

Galatians 6:9 (New International Version)
New International Version

9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Thanks for the encouragement Ang and Kel!

A super shout out to Heather at Generations Adoptions! Thanks for being on the show!

How to deal with the Holidays:

Prepare ahead of time, if hot button issues frequently arise, create ways to diffuse situations and think ahead of potential reactions to help maintain a relaxing, thankful environment.

The day will run more smoothly if you prepare ahead of time. Make sure that there is plenty of food and plenty of activities throughout the home.

Let the kids be a great distraction!

Don't rely on conversation and television, provide games and a football and see what happens!

Set clear boundaries, let people know what you expect.

On that note, expect little. People can't change just to fit your mold, laugh off personality issues and only make an issue if something needs to be addressed.

If there is a person who is somewhat of an outsider, give them a special role like giving the blessing or toast to help them to feel included.
